Bad Company 2 PC Patch

A new patch for Battlefield Bad Company 2 is on the way!

From the post: "All game servers will need to be taken down for updates. The maintenance period starts on Wednesday Jun 30th at 07:00AM (GMT+2). Most of them should be back up by 11:00AM (GMT+2).

During this time window, we will also release the new game client."

Duke Nukem Manhattan Project coming to Xbox

It looks like DNMP will be coming to the Xbox 360. The game will cost 800 Microsoft points. If you missed the original release, you can read our PC review of the game here. I recommend it as an excellent remake of Duke's roots.

3DS Info

THINQ has some info up on the Nintendo 3DS GPU. A snippit from the article "the PICA200's features are 2x anti-aliasing, per-pixel lighting, subdivision primitives and soft shadows. As well as featuring DMP's own "Maestro" extensions, the PICA200 also fully supports OpenGL ES 1.1." makes it sound quite powerful for a Nintendo hand held. Well worth a read even if the upcoming 3D system doesn't necessarily strike your fancy.

Browsers Ho!

New versions of two popular web browsers were released this week. Mozilla Firefox has been brought to version 3.6.4 and Opera to 10.5.4.

Google Voice Open

A service I have been using for a while now, Google Voice, is now open! It offers the ability to merge all your phone numbers into one, visual voice mail, text and email voice messages, texting from a browser and more. You can check it out here.

World of Warcraft patched

Patch 3.3.5 for Blizzard's World of WarCraft MMORPG has been released. The patch includes a new raid, the Battle.net/REAL ID friends list integration, and other minor updates. You can read the full patch notes here and view a list of known issues in this 'blue' post. Unfortunately the game servers will be down until around 6pm EST.

iPhone / iPod Touch OS update

Apple released iOS 4 today. The update adds the ability to multitask (by double tapping the home button) with most apps, backgrounds for the home screen, spell checking, a more iPhoto-like interface for Photos, and other improvements. You can get the update via the new iTunes that was also released today.

Swype Beta

Slashdot brings word that the the Swype Beta for Android phones appears to be up and open. Swype allows a user to "draw a path over a virtual keyboard to enter words, rather than requiring precise tapping to accomplish the input". Using this a Swype intern named Franklin Page was apparently able to set a new Guinness record for typing speed. I guess you could counter by pointing out that he wasn't really typing, but hey.

Another Final Fantasy VII... Again

A new Final Fantasy VII remake seems to be a yearly rumor. With various groups/sites always claiming it is likely on the way. Well... I don't tire of these rumors, so here is PSXextreme's take on why 'Final Fantasy VII HD Is Inevitable'.
