TeamLiquid has announced the next StarLeague. This will be the 4th such event. The league has spanned StarCraft 1 and 2. The finer details are still to come, but you can get the bare bones and see a trailer video at the link listed above.

Phoronix has a story up on Steam and the Source game engine coming to Linux. The story has some shots of Left 4 Dead 2 running and states that is currently the most heavily worked on title so far.

Harebrained Schemes has launched a kickstarter for a new Shadowrun game. The game would be a single player 2d turn-based title. As someone who became a fan of the Shadowrun universe after playing the Genesis game, I have to say I am intrigued. The kickstarter is currently at $136,575 with a goal of $400,000.

A new video is up showing off the features of PlanetSide 2. The video shows off the flying, vehicle, and infantry combat as well as some of the environments.

IGN has an article up on the speculated PlayStation 4 specs. Currently it is said to sport an AMD processor, not feature backward compatibility, and tie games to user accounts to edge out the used game market. None of this has yet been confirmed by Sony.

GameSpy has a preview of the new SimCity up that apparently refutes the always online DRM requirement for the new SimCity. It seems that the game can run without an internet connection, though one will be necessary during the install. The preview also features quite a few nice screenshots.
